| Yeargh. I rolled my ankle once 0.5mi from end of b2b. It wasn't major though, but i scraped my leg up. Last sat night on our 4.5miler, i rolled it again. This time it's worse, i couldn't run sun, nor today, prob will run tomorrow. Part of it is my shoes though, so i had to buy new shoes, and a brace to heal my ankle. Just how much is running because of my crappy feet costing? Original Shoes = 130; Orthotics for shoes = 75; Ankle Brace = 32; New shoes = 75 (with coupon ... whew). Total = $300 on my crappy feet. Hopefully the new shoes fix me problems | | |
| Problem #1: Work laptop kept having svchost.exe taking near 100% of CPU resources and it was slugging down my computer. The issue? Googling svchost.exe finds that apparently at the beginning of may - around there, MS issued an update. Part of the update was for the automatic updates system and apparently it had some issues where everyone's computers have been dying. Anywho - running services.msc /s can be used to turn off Automatic Updating. But now you'll have to manually update from the microsoft web site. Problem #2: Stupid vista desktop computer refuses to boot and hangs on crcdisk.sys. Apparently this is another huge issue that everyone disagrees how to fix. Desktop still dead. | | |
| So recently we bought a pizza stone, slide, an italian cookbook (a good one), and pasta rollers. Total cost? prob $225 or so. But its okay mostly those awesome leftover gift cards we got from our wedding - yes we're still not done using our credit. Was it worth it?!?!!? uh yeah. Pre: Pesto (fresh basil leaves + garlic + pine nuts chopped up in food processor), slices of huge portabello mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, grated parm and asiago! Before cooking:
Post: Toasted pizza crispy goodness!
Yes - it WAS that good. MmmmmmMMMmmMm. The only problem is that to make a fresh pizza like this takes me like 4 hrs since you have to make the crust fresh (yeast takes too long to rise without one of those cool humid oven things that real pizza shops have). It's never a "dinner" for us, more than an 11pm snack when run amuck on our runner's diet. I think i should reserve pizzas for sundays. | | |
| Up to 6 miles this last sunday afternoon - currently on track according to plan. Found nice places to run (Los Gatos Creek trail >> Stevens creek ugly trail). Injuries so far: a) Sore ankles - running store helped correct with orthotics for my poor arches; b) Blisters - 2x. First i got a blister, it healed, then where the hard callousy material was a second blister formed because i didn't bandage/tape it on the long run. duh. ouch it hurts. Only 3 months left... | | |
